For customers in this scenario, Office 365 is a strategic platform and with Microsoft Search it offers a search engine that can index content e.g. from Confluence and display it in O365.

Microsoft Search Builds Bridges with Raytion Graph Connectors

Microsoft Search is a great foundation for enterprise search in the cloud because it automatically indexes all content from SharePoint Online and Teams and more content sources a consistent search. Moreover, this content can be searched from various starting points such as office.com, SharePoint Online or Bing for Business.

The Microsoft Graph connectors for Microsoft Search also enable an easy and secure access to Atlassian Confluence in Microsoft Search. So you can use Microsoft Search to look for and find all Confluence content such as wiki pages, blog posts or even attachments via full-text search. This type of search is not a cross-application search using the built-in Confluence index, but an indexing in the Microsoft Cloud.

Integrating Microsoft Search Directly in Confluence

Vice versa, it is easy to integrate Microsoft Search directly into Atlassian Confluence. By using the Microsoft Search query APIs, you can implement and integrate a fully featured search experience in the wiki directly. Such an integration can be implemented as a frontend-side component or with a middleware, such as the Raytion Search & Retrieval Interface.
This way, users do not have any media breaks and can access the enterprise search directly from wherever they work.

The video shows Raytion’s search as you type integration of Microsoft Search in Confluence, a frontend-side component. While typing, users receive search results from Microsoft Search, which are displayed side by side with search results from Confluence.

This macro offers a great enterprise search experience in Confluence itself, which can be tailored to your needs. For instance, you could easily include recommended links or tailored result blocks for project spaces. Only in case users cannot find what they are looking for in this type-ahead, a click on the search button redirects them to the search experience in Office 365.
